DIC Corporation has resolved to make a donation to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR)—the UN Refugee Agency—to help provide humanitarian assistance to people affected by the current crisis in Ukraine.

The company will also make a donation through a joint fund to be set up with consolidated subsidiary Sun Chemical Corporation. The total amount to be donated by the company, details of which are provided below, is expected to be approximately US$300,000.

The company will make a donation to the UNHCR to assist UNHCR’s refugee relief efforts in Ukraine and elsewhere in Europe by way of a contribution to Japan for UNHCR.

The company will also make a donation by contributing to a joint fund to be set up with Sun Chemical. This will be forwarded through DIC Group companies in Europe and will be used to provide direct assistance and relief, including housing, medical care and food, to those who have fled Ukraine to nearby countries such as Poland.

The DIC Group sincerely hopes its donations will help ensure the provision of essential support for people caught up in this conflict, and it will continue to back related humanitarian efforts going forward. The Group also prays that a ceasefire is reached swiftly, and that peace and security are restored to Ukraine and its people as soon as possible.
